HICKMAN, Pamela
Turtle Rescue:
Changing the Future for Endangered Wildlife (Firefly Animal Rescue Series)
Firefly Books, 2005
Rating: E
Turtle Rescue is a simple book packed full of data, colour photographs and ideas. It is well written and easy to read and digest. A great book for students completing science related projects. The book looks like it is for the younger crowd but would be useful as a subject starter for students in the older grades. The author introduces the history and plight of the turtle on earth. Hickman interviews individuals working in the field describing their career and how they are determined to rescue the turtle from extinction. You will travel from Vietnam to the Caribbean, Canada, United States, Hong Kong and Madagascar to name a few of the locations. We meet both scientists and volunteers trying to make a difference.
The book contains fantastic colour photographs, an index, and a page of how you can help listing organizations and their websites.
