  What is it?

A non-profit organization founded in 1976 to promote and encourage the reading, writing and illustrating of Canadian children's books. Among its members there are publishers, bookstores, libraries and schools.

  PaperTigers says...

… Although its website is not easy to navigate, the CCBC is the first stop to discover the rich and varied world of Canadian children's books…

  Tell me more…
  • The CCBC publishes many useful titles for teachers and librarians, like The Book Week Kit, Writing Stories, Making Pictures - Biographies of 150 Canadian Children's Authors and Illustrators, guides to the best Canadian children's books and a directory of authors and illustrators available for school and library visit;
  • It houses a permanent collection of contemporary Canadian children's books and reference material;
  • It organizes the Canadian Children's Book Week
